Judith 30th April 2020

Well John, what can I say? I think you must have been the single most significant influence on my career since that fateful day when you called me into your office in 1988 and suckered me into directing the school production! I didn't manage to escape for the next 30 years. We shared a love of the theatre and even shared a stage on a number of occasions, you playing the villainous old git and me the old bag! We'll always have Paris... One of my proudest moments in school was organising your retirement concert with Anthony, Tina, staff, current students, former students, former staff; it was a brilliant night. I've just seen Phil's photos of your entrance with tears in your eyes, they just about finished me off. There was so much love in the room that night. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to be your colleague over the last 30 something years and, like so many others, I will miss your wisdom, warmth, advice and sense of fun. We are all Les Miserables now! Rest in Peace, John, you deserve it - but you probably won't like it much! Much love, always, your Mme Thenardier (Jude) xxx
