Rest In Peace Mr John Day 🙏🏻 My memories of you are many. Serving alongside you and learning from your wisdom on the governing body to your deep discernment when interviewing prospective staff members. Hanging on to your every word during orations at presentation nights to seeing your captivating performance on stage in a school musical..My most vivid memories are the ways in which you held students and staff in the palm of your hand at ‘full school squashes’ and your reading from the classic poem by John Betjeman called ‘Christmas’ at school carol concerts in Wales Parish Church. It’s a much loved seasonal poem and you gave it the full JD treatment bringing it to life in a wonderful way. Betjeman expresses that faith is not the mere opposite of doubt, for doubt is a key component of faith. But my most vivid memory is the steadfast way you cared for your two families. Your school family and especially your lovely family at home. My thoughts and prayers are with them now in their deep loss. It is written in the Bible, ‘Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.’ I pray this site will bring some comfort to them as special memories of the unique person you were are shared. Blessings Reverend Gary (Vicar of Wales)
