Shelley Welsh
A true gentleman, JD was there at my first day at Wales and he made sure he was there at my last. He gave me the courage to believe in myself when others had made it hard too, he saw in me the teacher I could be and the leader I am now. I have so many memories but one that sticks with me is the day I told him I was expecting my first baby; he hugged me warmly and explained how happy he was, that family was everything and he was excited for mine to grow. It really does sum him up - JD was about the individual; the student, teacher, parent, carer and the community. He genuinely cared about them all but (as I do now) he always placed his family first. Thank you for the belief in me and know that you will be missed by so many.
