It is with great sadness that I heard of the death of John Day. John was such a personality and tremendously supportive person and I really felt I wanted to express my sadness at his loss. His care for disadvantaged young people and those with special needs was truly amazing and he gave a whole new definition of “going the extra mile”. He never gave up on a pupil and supported many families over very difficult times. I know how much John gave to his work. He embodied the spirit of Wales High School and the genuine care they showed to pupils, their families and all staff. He was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed. Catharine Kinsella
